Evidence against the formation of malondialdehyde derived fluorescent products in rat liver during carbon tetrachloride poisoning.

E G de Toranzo, J A Castro.

Abstract

Aerobic incubation of microsomal suspensions led to the formation of malondialdehyde derived fluorescent products, which were not formed in the presence of EDTA or antioxidants as propyl gallate. Malondialdehyde (MA) occurrence in livers from rats or A/J mice accutely or chronically intoxicated with CCl4 was not detected using the spectrofluorometric procedure.
