Lateralization of function in rats.

V H Denenberg.

Abstract

Research findings during the past several years have shown that the rat's brain is lateralized for a number of behavioral functions. Neurochemical and anatomical asymmetries have also been found and, in some instances, have been associated with the behavioral asymmetries. It has also been found that extra stimulation in early life can enhance existing asymmetries or can induce asymmetries where none previously existed.
