Clinical evaluation of an electrical current stimulator in spinal fusions.

Abstract

Five patients with spondylolisthesis which caused symptoms were treated by spinal fusion and direct current bone-growth stimulation. After ten weeks bony fusion was observed and the patients returned to their normal activities. The implanted stimulator appears to promote early fusion.
