Abstract
Acute alcoholic myopathy, a syndrome of sudden muscle necrosis, occurs as a result of binge drinking, whereas chronic alcoholic myopathy is a more indolently evolving syndrome of proximal weakness and muscle atrophy that accompanies prolonged alcohol abuse. The characteristic features and management of these disorders are highlighted.Entities:
