Oral treatment of haemophilia A by gastrointestinal absorption of factor VIII entrapped in liposomes.

Abstract

Factor-VIII-loaded liposomes were given orally to a patient with severe haemophilia A. Plasma concentrations of factor VIII rose to therapeutically effective levels, that persisted for 50 hours.
