Frozen section diagnosis in tumors of the pancreas.

L H Weiland1.

Abstract

Accurate diagnosis utilizing frozen section techniques is critical to proper patient treatment. It can be accomplished reliably and consistently. Communication and cooperation between the pathologist and the surgeon are indispensible aspects in managing such cases. Proper treatment requires an ability to subclassify the pancreatic tumors, and this can be successfully performed using frozen sections.
