Abstract
Enzymes inactivating the chemoattractants folic acid and pterin were detected in extracellular, intracellular, and particulate fractions obtained from Dictyostelium discoideum strains NC4 and AX-2 and Polysphondylium violaceum. The products of the inactivation reaction were analyzed by thin-layer chromatography and UV spectroscopy. Results obtained indicate that folic acid and pterin were deaminated to 2-deamino folic acid and lumazine, respectively.Entities:
