Improved synthesis of 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-CoA (HMG-CoA).

Abstract

An improved method for the chemical synthesis of HMG-CoA is described. The procedure is designed to prevent the formation of 3-acetoxy-HMG-CoA.
