Outer envelope of virulent Treponema pallidum.

R C Johnson, D M Ritzi, B P Livermore.

Abstract

Ultrathin sections of virulent Treponema pallidum (Nichols strain) were examined with the electron microscope, and the presence of an outer cell envelope was documented.
