Inhibition of spore outgrowth and vegetative growth of Bacillus stearothermophilus by dipicolinate.

M L Fields, H A Frank.

Abstract

Spores of Bacillus stearothermophilus germinated in the presence of sodium dipicolinate (DPA) but did not elongate after the emergence stage of outgrowth. Vegetative growth also was inhibited by Na(2)DPA.
