Abstract
Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) injected into the third ventricle of male rats promotes the release of pituitary luteinizing hormone (LH) but not follicle-stimulating hormone. When GABA was injected directly into the pituitary it was ineffective in promoting LH release. This evidence suggests that GABA may play a role in controlling the discharge of hypothalamic luteinizing hormone releasing factor.Entities:
