Abstract
The tyrB gene of E. coli K-12, which encodes aromatic amino acid aminotransferase (EC 2.6.1.57) was cloned. The nucleotide sequence of about 2 kilobase pairs containing the gene was determined. The coding region of the tyrB gene and the deduced amino acid sequence revealed that the aromatic amino acid aminotransferase of E. coli is homologous with the aspartate aminotransferase.Entities:
