Abstract
Two patients developed a severe and long-lasting inability to recognize familiar faces (prosopagnosia) after a stroke, which was shown by CT scan to be confined to the right hemisphere. The area of softening involved the entire cortico-subcortical territory of distribution of the right posterior cerebral artery. These data suggest that in a few cases right occipito-temporal damage may be sufficient to produce prosopagnosia.Entities:
