Abstract
Staphylococcus aureus is a major cause of surgical sepsis and septicaemia. The prevention and control of outbreaks of hospital infection caused by methicillin-resistant strains has become increasingly important in recent years. Staph. epidermidis has also emerged as a "problem organism" often causing serious infection in patients with prosthetic implants.Entities:
