Figure 1In a survey of all medical at Harvard Medical School in 2020, 84 students identified as first-generation/low-income, with 46.4% of those identifying as being the first generation in their family to be in the US (immigration status), 91.7% identifying as the first in their family to attend medical school, 51.1% identifying as the first in their family to earn a bachelor's degree, 58.3% identifying as the first in their family to earn a graduate/professional degree, and 59.5% identifying as low-income.
