Abstract
BACKGROUND: Patients who need prolonged mechanical ventilation (MV) have high resource utilization and relatively poor outcomes. The pathophysiologic mechanisms leading to weaning failure in this group may be complex and multifactorial. The aim of this study was to investigate the factors associated with prolonged weaning based on the Weaning Outcome according to a New Definition (WIND) classification.Entities:
