Bone mineral measurements in clinical practice.

B Murby, I Fogelman.

Abstract

The ability to detect accurately and quantify changes and absolute differences in bone mineralisation is of great value in the diagnosis and management of metabolic bone disease, particularly osteoporosis. A number of measurement techniques may be employed; and commercial instrumentation using photon absorptiometry methods will make the measurements more widely available.
