Abstract
BACKGROUND: In face-to-face therapy for eating disorders, therapeutic alliance (TA) is an important predictor of symptom reduction and treatment completion. To date, however, little is known about TA during web-based cognitive behavioral therapy (web-CBT) and its association with symptom reduction, treatment completion, and the perspectives of patients versus therapists.Entities:

Figure 1Flowchart of the inclusion process of this study. *In the underlying RCT, power analysis was used to determine how many participants could be assigned to each subgroup. The number of patients included in the binge eating disorder (BED) and eating disorder not otherwise specified (EDNOS) subgroups reached the necessary number of patients that should be recruited within the subgroup based on the sample size calculation, and the necessary number of patients for the bulimia nervosa (BN) group was not reached [19,44]. web-CBT: web-based cognitive behavioral therapy.
