Abstract
Uterine size was estimated in 66 women before hysterectomy by bimanual examination, uterine sounding, and pelvic ultrasound. The results were compared with weight and dimensions recorded after removal. There was greater error in estimation of uterine size using bimanual examination (standard error of the estimate [SEE] = 2.6 weeks) or uterine sounding (SEE = 2.2 weeks) than with ultrasound (SEE = 1.06 weeks). A close correlation existed between uterine size and weight (r = 0.95).Entities:
