Abstract
Six of a total of 14 human colon carcinoma cell lines produce and secrete lysozyme in vitro. Three also produce the enzyme when propagated in vivo in athymic mice. None of the lysozyme positive cells stained in a manner typical of Paneth cells. Additionally, lysozymes from all six colon lines possess identical molecular weights (approximately 14,000 daltons).Entities:
