Paul S Schulz1, Sarah E Moore1, Daniel Smith1, Jessica Javed1, Ashley M Wilde1.

Abstract

Background: Adult vaccination programs are suboptimal.
Methods: Pneumococcal vaccination history, and healthcare contact were assessed in patients with invasive pneumococcal disease.
Results: Of the 229 cases, 14% were vaccinated. Observed mortality was 20.1%. Conclusions: Numerous missed vaccination opportunities were identified.
