Abstract
BACKGROUND: Depression one of the world's prevalent mental illnesses is a leading cause of major public health problems globally and its frequency has been increasing, particularly in low and middle-income countries. Little is known about the magnitude and contributing factors of preoperative depression among elective surgical inpatients in the country and in the study area as well. The aim of the current study was to assess the magnitude and factors associated with preoperative depression among elective surgical inpatients.Entities:
