Proficiency of office microbiology testing.

Abstract

Microbiology proficiency testing results from smaller physicians' office laboratories in the state of Pennsylvania are reviewed. Possible reasons for lower performance levels are discussed, and some approaches to improving microbiology proficiency in this setting are suggested.
