Abstract
BACKGROUND: Progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML) is a rare demyelinating lytic brain infection caused by the John Cunningham virus (JCV). JCV manifests primarily in patients with innate immunodeficiency or taking immunomodulatory medications.
