A Pascal microcomputer program for prediction of protein secondary structure and hydropathic segments.

A Parrilla1, A Doménech, E Querol.

Abstract

This paper describes a simple Pascal microcomputer program for prediction of protein secondary structure according to the Chou and Fasman algorithm. In addition, it performs an analysis of the hydropathic character of the residues for prediction of external/internal regions of the polypeptide chain. Also it searches for probable glycosylation and phosphorylation sites.
