The Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-2), which has been validated in Uganda,[25] was used to assess depression; a response of yes to either question is considered possible depression.
Alcohol use was assessed using the RAPS-4 scale[24]; a response of yes to 1 or more questions is considered problematic alcohol use in the previous yr.
Stigma was assessed using the HIV stigma scale[23]; data indicate a response of agree or strongly agree.
