Abstract
BACKGROUND: According to Article 12 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, therapists are duty-bound to include children in decisions that impact them. Although occupational therapists champion client-centred, collaborative practice, there remains a paucity of studies detailing children's rights and experiences of decision-making in pediatric occupational therapy.Entities:

Inclusion criteria for child-adult units and occupational therapists.

| 1. Each child-adult unit consists of a minimum of one child and one adult (who typically accompany the child/young person to occupational therapy, e.g., parent, guardian, or caregiver); | 1. Occupational therapists were required to have a minimum of 1 years’ experience working in a pediatric setting to ensure they were familiar with processes and procedures in a pediatric context; and |
| 2. informed consent was obtained. | |
| 2. the child was currently attending or has attended a complete course of occupational therapy (including evaluation, intervention, targeting of outcomes) in the past; and | |
| 3. both child assent and parental consent was obtained. |
