Abstract
INTRODUCTION: Schizophrenia is typically diagnosed through interviews with patients and their relatives. Thus, molecular biomarkers for this mental illness have recently become a hot topic for research. Oxidative stress and antioxidant parameters, such as catalase (CAT), superoxide dismutase (SOD) and malondialdehyde (MDA), have been investigated in schizophrenia; however, no studies have been conducted on the diagnostic performance of oxidative parameters. The goal of the present study is to examine the serum levels of SOD, CAT and MDA and to test the diagnostic performance of MDA in patients with schizophrenia.Entities:
