Abstract
BACKGROUND: Atrial fibrillation (AF) and Venous Thromboembolism (VTE) are significant causes of morbidity and mortality. Direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) are as effective as vitamin K antagonists (VKAs) with a propensity to cause less major bleeding.
