Abstract
In this issue of Neuron, Shi et al. (2021) show a protective role for the low-density lipoprotein receptor (LDLR) in tau pathology. Brain overexpression of LDLR lowers apolipoprotein E (apoE), suppresses microglial activation, preserves myelin, and ameliorates neurodegeneration, pointing the way toward potential new therapies.Entities:
