Abstract
Patients with pancytopenia may present as either clinically stable or unstable. Although there are many common causes of pancytopenia, a new cause that has been recently documented in patient case studies is the novel 2019 Coronavirus. Nurse practitioners in all practice environments need to be able to identify pancytopenia, be aware of associated complications and emergencies, and provide appropriate intervention including a hematology consult.Entities:
