Abstract
AIMS: Restrictions during the COVID-19 crisis will have impacted on opportunities to be active. We aimed to (a) quantify the impact of COVID-19 restrictions on accelerometer-assessed physical activity and sleep in people with type 2 diabetes and (b) identify predictors of physical activity during COVID-19 restrictions.Entities:

Socio‐economic status measured by the index of multiple deprivation (IMD) rank where a rank of 1 indicates the most deprived and a rank of 32,482 the least deprived.
Depressive symptoms (Patient Health questionnaire 9): Depression severity scores of 0–4 indicate none, 5–9 mild, 10–14 moderate, 15–19 moderately severe and 20–27 severe
independent t‐tests for normally distributed variables (parametric), Mann–Whitney U test for non‐normally distributed variables (nonparametric) and chi‐square independence test for categorical variables.
