Abstract
The principles of atraumatic flexor tendon repair are reviewed. It is noted that tendon repair of the profundus and superficialis tendons-primary or delayed primary-should be carried out in all zones of flexor tendon interruption. Whenever possible, repair of the flexor tendon sheath also seems appropriate. A supervised program of early motion may prove beneficial, though restoration of function to a digit may be long and tedious, thus requiring a high degree of patient motivation and participation.Entities:
