Abstract
BACKGROUND AND AIMS: There are contradictory findings on time changes in the prevalence of eating disorders (EDs). The first epidemiological studies in Hungary were carried out in the late 1980s. High-risk cases: at least one compensatory behaviour to avoid weight gain (vomiting, laxatives, diuretics, slimming pills, dietary restrictions), at least once a week, and persisting at least four weeks.
Risk cases: at least one compensatory behaviour, at least once in two weeks, and persisting at least four weeks.
