Abstract
BACKGROUND: The keratorefractive surgeries (KRS) are one of the most common ocular surgeries. One of the dangerous complications of these surgeries is infectious keratitis (IK), which is the second cause of blindness after cataract surgery. The purpose of this study was to estimate the prevalence of IK after KRS in different parts of the world.Entities:

Figure 1Flowchart of the evaluated studies into meta-analysis.
Figure 2The incidence of infectious keratitis after performing the keratorefractive surgery, according to the author's name and the year of research, based on the random effects model. The midpoint of each line segment reveals the incidence of infectious keratitis after conducting the keratorefractive surgery for each study. The rhombus form also shows the incidence of infectious keratitis after performing the keratorefractive surgery for all studies.
Extracted data from articles that are included in the meta-analysis.
