Abstract
BACKGROUND: Hemodialysis (HD) patients have high unemployment rates associated with higher mortality and poor quality of life. Changes in employment status prior to dialysis initiation may predict subsequent patient outcomes. We sought to examine US national trends in employment status prior to and at HD initiation, risk factors for job loss and their association with transplantation and mortality.Entities:
