Genetic defect in responsiveness to the B cell mitogen lipopolysaccharide.

A Coutinho, L Forni, F Melchers, T Watanabe.

Abstract

Splenic B cells C57BL/10ScCr mice fail to respond to the mitogenic principle of lipopolysaccharide (LPS), and do not express a serologically defined "LPS receptor". In contrast, polyclonal B cell responses to both purified protein derivative of tuberculin and lipoprotein are conserved.
