The development of the WHO Recommended Classification of Pesticides by Hazard.

J F Copplestone.

Abstract

The WHO Recommended Classification of Pesticides by Hazard, which was originally intended as a tool to aid international harmonization of pesticide registration, is already 13 years old. Over the years, it has been refined, and it is now accepted by many countries and international organizations. The story of its development illustrates well an international approach to problems as they have arisen.
