Abstract

Modern speckle tracking allows the assessment of atrial strain in the clinic. The approach is new, lacks standardization and the user might encounter several problems in its routine use. This article provides guidance on how avoid pitfalls and how to perform reliable and reproducible atrial strain measurements according to current recommendations.
