Abstract
OBJECTIVE: Normal-weight obesity (NWO) is characterized by high body fat percentage (BFP) in individuals with normal body mass index (BMI). This condition may increase the risk of serious health problems, such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, insulin resistance, hypertension, and metabolic syndrome. However, the prevalence of NWO in older adults in Beijing remains unclear. This study aimed to investigate the prevalence of overweight and obesity among older adults in Beijing, using three obesity assessment indicators: BMI, waist circumference, and BFP.Entities:
