These are very demanding and fast-moving times, and the Journal of Minimally Invasive Gynecology (JMIG) strives to continue its role as an invaluable resource for our readers and the surgical community. As the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) crisis continues, access to expert opinion and counsel is critical. Unusual times call for unusual measures including this Editorial on an Editorial. In the May-June 2020 issue, we have an editorial from Dr. Jubilee Brown [1], president of the AAGL, on Surgical Decision Making in the Era of COVID-19. We also have invited perspective pieces on the pros and cons of the safety of abdominal surgery and hysteroscopy during this crisis [2,3]. If you look, you will note the international nature of the authors drawing on the collective expertise of experts across the world. In addition, we invited our American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists sister societies to submit their society's guidelines as letters to the editors 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 to make them available to our readership. I would suggest taking the time to look through these letters because they contain a wealth of information reflecting different regions of the world's points of view on surgery during the COVID-19 pandemic. To expedite access to these important contributions, JMIG's rapid “submission to online publication” timeline was even further streamlined. We take great pride in our rapid turnaround time with the average time from a manuscript being initially submitted to appearing online remarkably taking less than 11 weeks. However, our letters and perspectives on COVID-19 were posted within just several days! JMIG remains committed to providing vital information from international experts in a timely fashion. Their wide-ranging contributions reflect the authors and their societies’ opinions, not those of JMIG's editors. Our goal is to stimulate dialogue and to aid in the increasingly complicated decision-making process that reflects surgical care in our specialty. It is our privilege to bring this essential information to you.
