Abstract
[Purpose] The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of nutritional status on the prognosis of patients with severe hemiplegia who were recently admitted to a convalescent rehabilitation hospital. [Participants and Methods] Eighty patients with stroke and severe hemiplegia were divided into two groups based on their serum albumin levels: normal (serum albumin 3.5 g/dL or more) and undernourished group (serum albumin 3.4 g/dL or less).
