Overweight and obesity definition
WHO criteria (2006)
<5 years
Overweight: BMI z-scores >2 SD
Obesity: BMI z-scores >3 SD
≥5 years
Overweight: BMI z-scores >1 SD
Obesity: BMI z-scores >2 SD
IOTF criteria (2000)
Overweight and obesity are respectively defined to pass through BMI for 25 kg/m2 and 30 kg/m2 at age 18
China criteria (2009)
Overweight and obesity are respectively defined to pass through BMI for 24 kg/m2 and 28 kg/m2 at age 18
BMI, body mass index; SD, standard deviation.
