Up to present day there are seven human coronaviruses identified; four commonly detected (229E, OC43, NL63 and HKU1) may cause upper respiratory infections; three other strains presented (SARS-CoV, MERS-CoV and SARS-CoV-2) have different pathogenicity and have led to deadly epidemics.
