Abstract
BACKGROUND: The demographic parameters of the predacious seven spotted ladybird beetle Coccinella septempunctata Linnaeus (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae) reared on the following four host aphid species were compared: Rhopalosiphum padi Linnaeus (Hemiptera: Aphididae), Rhopalosiphum maidis Fitch (Hemiptera: Aphididae), Sitobion avenae Fabricius (Hemiptera: Aphididae), and Schizaphis graminum Rondani (Hemiptera: Aphididae).Entities:

Notes.
L1–L4 refers to the first-to-fourth larval instars. b number of individual C. septempunctata that completed the indicated stage. Values with similar letters in a row are statistically non-significant at the 5% confidence level. The standard error (SE) was estimated by bootstrapping (100,000 replications).
