Abstract
INTRODUCTION: ephrinA1 plays important roles in tumor angiogenesis. Matrix metalloproteases (MMPs) can cleave ephrinA1 from the cell membrane into extracellular environment. However, how soluble ephrinA1 is modulated by hypoxia and whether MMPs participate in this hypoxic process remains to be investigated in detail.Entities:

Figure 3Expression of soluble ephrinA1 in serum of 35 OSCC patients. Serum was obtained both preoperatively and 2 weeks postoperatively. (A) ELISA analysis demonstrated that soluble ephrinA1 expressed positively both before surgery (0.68±0.06 ng/mL) and after removal of the tumor (0.56±0.06 ng/mL).
