Abstract
BACKGROUND: There has been a growing interest in the economic burden of mortality; however, a majority of evidence is concerned with particular diseases. Less is known on the overall cost of all-cause early deaths, principally in international context. Therefore, this study aims to estimate production losses of premature mortality across 28 European Union (EU-28) countries in 2015.Entities:

†As no predictions of economies’ growth were available for the period beyond 2070 it was assumed that growth rates in years 2070+ were the same as for the last period available (2070).
