Abstract
This paper reports on the use of the Nottingham Health Profile as a measure of patient quality of life before and after combined heart and lung transplantation at Harefield Hospital. A total of 125 profiles from 48 patients were analysed. In both section 1 and section 2 of the profile, large and statistically significant (p less than 0.05) improvements in quality of life were associated with transplantation. The profile proved easy to use either as part of an interview during assessment for transplantation or as a postal follow-up postoperatively.Entities:
