Abstract
This note studies the empirical link between public health expenditures and growth using a dynamic panel data model and U.S. state-level data over the period 1963-2015. We find a positive relationship between public health expenditures and growth, even after controlling for the offsetting impacts of the requisite taxation and the government budget constraint. Keywords: growth; health expenditures; taxation
