Abstract
The structure of the major fluorescent pterin present in thermophilic archaebacterium Sulfolobus solfataricus has been assigned, by analysis of the intact molecule and its hydrolytic and periodate cleavage products, as erythro-neopterin-3'-D-2-deoxy-2-aminoglucopyranoside. The trivial name solfapterin is proposed for this compound.Entities:
